Fish Kodiak
Adventures
provides
the unique opportunity for
you to combine salt
water and fresh water
fishing. Salt water fishing
includes king salmon
(chinook), silver salmon
(coho), halibut, ling cod
and rockfish. You can
also pull sockeye salmon
(reds), silver salmon,
Dolly Varden and
rainbow trout from
nearby lakes and rivers
around Ugak Bay.
King  salmon weighing 50
pounds and up are
common, especially
during May through July.
(The king salmon shown
on the left was a 65
pounder, caught in early
May.) Ugak Bay is also
home to some of the
biggest coho salmon  on
Kodiak Island, especially
those that are returning to
Lake Rosetead.
Rick's boat - new in 2005  the
"C Grace" – can quickly get
you to the
Fish Kodiak
Adventures
grounds in a few
scenic minutes. Trophy king
and coho salmon, giant
Pacific halibut and numerous
wildlife abound throughout the
area. It’s truly a perfect place
to spend your Alaska Dream
Vacation!
Fish Kodiak Adventures is located on the Pasagshak River, very near to Ugak Bay at
the northeast corner of Kodiak Island. It is regarded as a gateway to some of the wildest
and most untouched fishing and hunting areas that Kodiak Island has to offer.
Captain Rick Baker is your Fish Kodiak
Adventures
guide. He is shown here in his favorite
pose – hefting a big King Salmon. There is no such
thing as “slow fishing” when you’re aboard his
fishing vessel, the C Grace!  Rick holds a U.S.
Coast Guard 50 ton masters license and is fully
insured. Rick, who originally hails from Oregon, has
been a fishing fanatic since he was a youngster. It
was fishing that brought him to Alaska in 1979 to
fish for king crab in the Bering Sea (just like the
Discovery Channel’s “Deadliest Catch”!) Rick has
lived and fished on Kodiak for 25 years and knows
the Island’s fishing grounds like the back of his
hand. He is also regarded by locals as an uncanny
“fish magnet” – he always finds the fish when others
can’t. Rick spends his free time out on the water
fishing, searching and learning. He operates the
only fishing guide service in Pasaghak Bay.
