Trolling & Mooching for Trophy King Salmon, 40 to 65 lb. fish are common. Typically
about 50% of these Chrome bright fish have white
flesh, a real taste treat. The famed "White King" or "Tuli"   Most King Salmon fishing is
done in protected waters of Ugak bay, Ugak Island and a trip or two south to Kiluda Bay .
We do catch a lot of Halibut while fishing for King Salmon, many times catching a limit of
Halibut with out actually fishing for them.
The Pasagshak River full of Big Dolly Varden trout this time of year and offers some great fly
fishing opportunities just outside the door of the lodge.
Whales start showing up in early spring and often feed in the same areas that we fish. This is
a great time to witness the "Whale Breath Experience"
"If you can smell their breath you are pretty darn close". Needless to say they have some
strong breath.
Spring marks the time when Kodiak Brown Bears leave their dens and feed on the first green
grass on the south slopes. Bears are often seen while we are fishing. Or we can take some
time and go looking for them and really see some bears.

"Grand Slam" A phrase used to describe the catching all five species of Pacific salmon in a
single day.
Trolling & Mooching for trophy King Salmon fish 40 to 50 lb. and up are common, most
fishing is done in protected waters of Ugak bay, Ugak Island and a trip or two south Kiluda
Bay .
The first Silver Salmon shows up in the saltwater around the 20 th of June, with limits of
silvers landed by the 1st of July.
The Pasagshak River Sockeye salmon run is strong by second week of June with the peak of
the run happening around the middle of July.
Whales are all here in force and are usually a good indicator of where the salmon are.
Whales will stay in the area until late into the Fall.
Ling Cod season opens July 1

Trolling , Mooch & Fly fish. You may have to catch and release 20 Silver Salmon before
you land a King Salmon. It can get pretty exhausting.   What a way to get worn out,
Catching Fish!   This is the time of year when we change the name to "Catch Kodiak Chaos
Fishing Adventures"!
Ocean and Freshwater fishing for Silver Salmon is truly "Unbelievable!". Whether trolling,
mooching, casting or fly fishing.
Typically the First silvers in the Pasagshak River show up by mid August. With great fishing
by September 1 through the end of October
Halibut are big, close and shallow. Many of Rick's Halibut holes are under 50' of water.
Light tackle Halibut fishing is excellent this time of year.
Sitka Blacktail deer hunting season opens August 1- December 31
Late Silvers, Fall Chinook , Halibut, Sitka Blacktail deer and Sea duck hunting
October 1 - December 31
Ocean Trolling & Mooching for Trophy King salmon gets really hot after the silvers head to
their designated streams. Many of fish over 40 with an occasional 60 +
Halibut are easy to find this time of year. Many fish are caught while fishing for King Salmon
Duck season opens Oct. 8.

Reservations
A 50% deposit is required to hold reservations. Payment in full is required April 1 prior to
your trip. Payments are non refundable. However if you can find someone else to fill your
reserved dates we will work with you. Air transportation to and from Kodiak Island is not
included in packages.   Fishing & licences & stamps can be purchased at AAA River Inn .
