“My first trip up to Kodiak was
interesting—but not exciting
enough to come back—until I met
Rick and Leslee Baker and
experienced their first-class care at
both of their lodges. That was five
trips ago, and my return to Kodiak
will continue to be an annual event
for the rest of my life. I travel all
over the world, and can
vacation anywhere. I choose Kodiak
and AAA Bayview & River Inn!”
— Drew, Colorado Springs
“I’m 73 years old. When my son invited me
up to
Alaska and told me we were going to
Kodiak, I wasn’t sure of what to expect.
Fortunately, when I got to the Baker’s
lodge, my ideas of “roughing it” would never
be the same. Luxury rooms, great food,
incredible views—and the fishing! After my
first trip, I had both of my knees replaced,
just so I could enjoy long days
of future fishing experiences with Rick out
at Pasagshak. Maybe I’ll get lucky and he’ll
hire me!”
— Lee, Oklahoma City
“After my doctor diagnosed me with
prostate cancer, I didn’t think there would
be much to look forward to. But when my
friend took me to Kodiak, my whole outlook
on life changed. The purity of the air, the
sea, the sites, and the wonderful hospitality
of the Bakers and AAA Bayview were
overwhelming. I spent only three days,
fishing and boating with Rick. But in those
three days,I lived a lifetime of adventures.
Thank you AAA Bayview & River Inn for
rekindling my life’s fire.”
— Sheldon, Salt Lake City

"Rick, I want to book fishing again next
summer . We have been stung by the fly and
are now infected. I'm telling everyone, I
know its the best fishing in the world.
Crab pots, humpback whales, sea lions, seals
and all the salmon and halibut your can reel
in. The sun, the mountains, and of course the
fires, felt like a fireman for minute.
You can't explain it, the smell of cigars
against a backdrop of fish guts and whale
breath. What more can the world offer?
We came to Alaska the year before and ran
up and down the road from Anchorage to
Homer with all the other tourists. That was
beautiful but in no way compares to Kodiak.
You have to get off the beaten path to feel the
true essence of Alaska.
I think the idea that the biggest bears in the
world are roaming the landscape adds a little
excitement and adventure to the experience.
Can't wait to be there again."
