The Nutrient-rich waters of Ugak Bay provide an ideal habitat for large populations of marine
mammals. We see whales everyday. Whales that frequent the area include grey whale,
humpback whale, minke whale & fin whale. The Spring whale migration to Alaska waters begins
in April. It is a rare day when we don't see some kind of whale activity. Other marine mammals
porpoises. A good camera with a fast shutter is the key to catching one \out of the water, like
the happy grey whale shown below.
